How to Naturally Whiten Skin at Home

Instead of using harsh chemical-based products for skin lightening, try the most effective home-made recipes that are free of side/after-effects and are reliable for skin whitening. Make your own skin whitening night cream at home (you can use it as a mask, too).



Acquire plain organic yogurt. Take a tablespoonful of yogurt.

Add 8-9 drops of freshly-squeezed lemon juice in it.

Add a tiny droplet of Lavender/Rose or Jasmine flower oil. You can also use Vanilla essence in place of the above-mentioned oils.

Mix all the ingredients well, cover them and leave to settle for two minutes.

Now, apply this mixture as a night cream before you go to bed. Or alternatively, apply this paste on your face and neck as a mask.

If using it as a morning cream, wash your skin with a mild soap in the morning. If you have used this paste as a mask, wash after 40 minutes with lukewarm water, without using soap.





  • Applying this mixture every alternate night can dramatically lighten your skin tone. Do not forget to completely protect your skin from direct sun exposure during the day to prevent further darkening of skin.
  • Do not avoid the sun completely. Sunlight has harmful ultraviolet waves, but it also helps the body make Vitamin D.




  • If you have oily skin, you can double the amount of lemon juice used in the making of this cream/mask. (up to 6-8 drops)
  • Individuals with sensitive skin should not add Lavender Flower essence/oil as it has the tendency to irritate sensitive skin. Moreover, the addition of lemon juice should not exceed the given amount for people with sensitive skin.


How to Lighten Skin Tips

Use sunscreen daily with a minimum of 15 SPF. Clouds only block about 20 percent of the sun’s harmful UV rays, so make sure you use your sunscreen even on overcast days, and reapply once at midday.



Choose skin creams and lotions which contain hydroquinone, a chemical which helps to lighten skin by inhibiting melanin. Use your skin cream or lotion daily; however, you must use sunscreen as well, as hydroquinone makes your skin more sensitive to the sun.


Purchase a serum of Vitamin C, readily available where beauty supplies are sold. Apply the serum evenly to your skin every night before bed to gradually and gently lighten your skin and even your skin tone.
